Three-way Lead at the Top

Round 4 of European Youth Grand Prix took place today at picturesque Jermuk. The sole leader of the tournament Krill Shevchenko made his first draw. In so far the longest game of the tournament the Ukrainian master was not able to break the defense of Viachaslau Zarubitski of Belarus. Armenian players Aram Hakobyan and Shant Sargsyan won their games and jumped into three-way tie at the top. Now Shevchenko, Hakobyan and Sargsyan got 3.5 points and are leading the table.

Arseniy Nesterov of Russia celebrated third victory in a row and is now at clear fourth place. Nikolozi Kacharava of Georgia defeated Sergei Lobanov of Russia. The winner of the first leg of Grand Prix Kirill Shubin made a second consecutive draw, although in both these games he had dominating positions.
